Hi Sandy: Myself like most of the other Marletts,Marlettes Marlatts, Merlets (and a dozen other variations) are descendents of Gideon La Plante Merlet (b. 1656) and Margaet Martin. Gideon is our immigrant ancestor and son of Josias Merle and Jeanne Robbe. I,m sure we would all be interested in the information you have that goes beyound Josias.
