Bob, thanks for replying to my post about Minta Marlin.I do have some info on Thomas Marlin and Levicee Lee.One of the reasons that I believe Minta to be a granddaughter of Thomas and Levicee is that Margaret and Mary were living with Minta and her husband, John Newton, in the 1900 census. They are listed as sister-in-laws, but since Tom Marlin had died prior to 1872 (Minta’s dob), I don’t believe there were really Minta’s sisters. There are some other discrepancies in that enumeration for the John Newton household; I am thinking that it was one of the kids that was telling the census taker the info and the child referred to Margaret and Mary as “Aunt”.Just a hunch.I have found that Margaret and Mary did each own 1/6 of what had been their dad’s land. And that property was deeded to John Newton thru a deed of trust. In that deed it indicates that Margaret and Mary were “insane”.On Margaret’s death certificate, Minta Newton was the informant. I have not found a death certificate for Mary, even though her tombstone indicates she died in 1913. I am finding things that connect Minta to this family, just nothing that has connected her as a blood relative, without a doubt.
I have very little info on Wilson and Nancy. What kind of accident caused their death?I would be interested in anything you could share.
Thanks.
Mae Newton Bruce
