Hi Thomas, have you researched the roots of your Marling family? My Marlin family have been known to add the G for some reason or another. Our roots are early on in England . We later made our way to Scotland and Ireland , USA and British North America(Canada)
My lineage used George, Henry ,James, William,Thomas,Edward and Robert over and over.
I have cousins who went by Marlin in Ireland moved to Canada changed to Marling then moved back to Ireland as Marlin.
Wish I knew more about our English roots.
My fathers first cousin died in WW 1 at Vimy Ridge.
