Thomas and Amelia Morris Marling (various spellings) did not live ALL their lives in Belmont Co Ohio. They moved to Evansville IN sometime between 1870 and 1880 where her parents and siblings were living.
Amelia's mother, Belinda Hines Morris lived with Thomas and Amelia for a few years. I have tracked them through the city directory of Evansville IN. They were listed in the 1880 census of Evansville, Vanderburgh Co Indiana as Thomas and Amelia Martin. With them was the girl Ellen who was listed as Ellen Williams age 7 in the 1870 census of Belmont Co OH. In the 1880 census she is listed as their daughter.
They were back in Belmont Co by the 1900 census which syas Amelia did not have any children, so assuming they may have adopted this Ellen Williams.
I also have the record of the Belmont County Infirmary of when Amelia was admitted and when she died. It gave two names to contact at her death. Also have her death certificate.
All census indicates that Thomas was born around 1828 in Pennsylvania.
