Lillian Marquis 1914-2010
PASSADUMKEAG, Maine - Lillian Y. Marquis, 95, wife of Clement Marquis, passed away June 16, 2010, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Aug. 30, 1914, in Howland, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Pelkey) York. Lillian retired after many years of service as a librarian at Bangor Public Library. She was a longtime and very active member of Passadumkeag Grange, where she was past master. In addition to her husband, Clement, she is survived by a son, Frederick Marquis of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, Anthony Williams, and Michael, William and Steven Marquis; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Steven Williams; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph Marquis; and a daughter, Mary Lou Williams. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. July 9 at St. Leo Catholic Church, Howland, with the Rev. Leroy Landry, presiding. Interment will be at St. Matthew Cemetery, West Enfield.
