John Marsden Blackburn to Iowa
Here is my question: who are the parents of John Marsden?
William Marsden (1813-1901) is my grandfather's grandfather. William is buried at the Campground Cemetery, Washinton County, Iowa, with his wife Sidney and one of his daughters, Elizabeth Jeffrey.
John (1801-1868) is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.
John and William came Baltimore from Blackburn, Lancashire and came to Iowa from Baltimore, Maryland, and purchased land in Crawford and Oregon townships Washington County, Iowa, in 1841.

"Wm and John Marsden came in '41" (History of Washington County, Iowa: from the first white settlements to 1908, p.168)
"Among others who settled . . . between 1840 and '45 were John and William Marsden" (The history of Washington County, Iowa: its cities, towns, and c., a biographical directory of its citizens, p.300)
William had a brother John, but he was born about 1818, not 1801, he was married to Susannah Mellor, not Isabella Langworthy, and it seems that he remained in Baltimore.
I suspect that the John Marsden who came to Washington County was perhaps an uncle of William Marsden, a brother of William's father Richard, but I have not been able to confirm or document this.
Do you have any information that might help me identify John Marsden's parents.
