please go to ancestry.com and do a search entering in the following: roger marsden 1815 kane county, illinois
find "tree one" owned by "englishlion". that is a rather accurate version of the tree from that time.
his son robert, married ethel dearborn. ethel's father, nathan harris dearborn, had a sister, eliza jane (dearborn) smith. she is my 2x great grandmother. ethel would be maybee a second cousin (?) twice removed (?) to me.
i can not prove who they are, and i have not found anyone who can help me get them on line yet, but i believe i have digital copies, that i made, of the original tintypes of roger and betsy. i know for a fact that i have several digital copies that i made from the original tintypes and later photo print paper of robert and ethel and their 3 children, as well as a photo taken about 1851-52 of nathan harris dearborn and his second wife, maryett, and the 3 daughters they had. maryett died in 1854 and the youngest daughter, lydia, was born nov. 14,1849, and she looks to be about 2 years old to me, in that tintype photo.
roger marsden was a shoemaker on a census and his father-in-law, thomas metcalf, was a stone mason.
hope this is seen and that it helps.
