Can't find the place you are looking for ? An excellent (and easy to use) website where you can locate up to 350,000 current and former placenames in Canada, accessible in French or English, is - http://geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/english/cgndb.htmlhttp://geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/english/cgndb.html - or Home Page at - http://geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/english/Home.htmlhttp://geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/english/Home.html -
Your Richmond is almost on the NB-Maine border, about halfway between Woodstock, NB and Houlton, ME. Didn't find anything showing Mills Corners, NB by using the website above.
You might want to contact some of the following info sources:
Since 1873 there have been 15 counties in NB. New Brunswick’s 8 original counties in 1785 (when it was separated from Nova Scotia) were: Saint John, Charlotte, Kings, Queens, Sunbury, Westmorland, and also York and Northumberland which together occupied about 70% of the total land area of NB. York County was later divided into Carleton (1832) and Victoria (1844), and in 1873 Madawaska was sub-divided from Victoria. Northumberland was sub-divided in 1826 into Kent and Gloucester, and Restigouche was created out of Gloucester in 1837. Albert County was created from Westmorland in 1845.
New Brunswick Provincial Archives - http://www.gov.nb.ca/supply/archives/ENGLISHhttp://www.gov.nb.ca/supply/archives/ENGLISH - go to the NB county you are researching, and you will have the records the archives have (and can lend) on this county, including birth, marriages, marriage bonds, deaths, probate records, wills, etc. Contact your local library and ask them if they can order the microfilms from the NB archives.
