I believe that I am descended from Henry Marten's mother who was known in my family as the "mother of the regicide". I believe she was a Bunce. I have not found the actual genealogical links with the Bunces in my family, but I do know that they came from Longworth in Berkshire (or Oxfordshire--the boundary changed). My great grandmother was Louisa Bunce Wright. Her brother, John Thackeray Bunce (d.1899) was editor of the Birmingham Post in the late 1800s. Their father, John Bunce was a clock maker who moved from Longworth to Birmingham about 1833. John Thackeray's daughter, Kate Bunce was a Pre-Raphaelite artist of note. I would be interested in learning more about this connection to Henry Marten.
