Amanda
I am trying to confirm a link between the two famous Henry Martens, father and son, under the early Stuarts, and Sir Henry Marten (1872-1948), the Eton teacher who taught the present Queen of England history. This modern Henry M is certainly descended from Sir Henry Marten, the lawyer, father of the regicide. If he is descended from the regicide this must be through the regicide's only son. Laurie Ashton says he only had the one. Do you know the son's name? I think it was Henry (again!), born 1639 according to the IGI. Can you confirm this, and do you know anything about his descendants?
Thanks in advance
Donald
