Martha (Patsy) Mask, 1780 Anson County, NC
I have read in many places that William Mask's wife, Patsy, was a Nance before marrying William. What is the official documentation which would prove this?
I have many coincidences in my family which would indicate that she was a Kirby who was the widow of Samuel Pond who died in Montgomery or Anson County c. 1780. William Mask assisted her in settling Samuel's estate (Samuel was a Captain in the NC Militia in Rev. War). She had a son Joseph Pond by Samuel who attended Brown Creek Baptist church in Anson County. He named his son Miles Washington Pond and another George. With the use of Kirby and Joseph as Christian names among the William Mask family, it leads me to believe that Patsy was a Kirby. She had a brother named Miles Kirby.
