Masons of Essex

I have Henry Mason who cannot be found on any census except 1841, he was baptised in Little Stambridge, Essex England in 1836. He was a bargeman so I guess that's why he wasn't in the censuses. I believe his father was William Mason, a brewer who died before the 1841 census but I have been unable to establish any background for William and was wondering if there is anyone who is also researching this family. Any help appreciated.
Lorna
