Hi Joan,

I just returned from Ireland where I had the opportunity to go through the baptism, marriage, and death records of Aghalee Parish Church (Church of Ireland/Anglican). This church is sometimes called Soldierstown Church. Aghalee is about 5 miles from Lurgan and probably 5-10 miles from Lisburn. Aghalee is in Co. Antrim.
While reviewing the records I tried to make notes about all the records for Matchett. I found a marriage record for an Isaac Matchett who was married to a Mary Fleeton on July 11, 1863. He was 20 years old and she was of "full age" I understand this is 25, but don't know for sure. Isaac's father was listed as James Matchett. (My great grandfather was a James Matchett too.) I can't connect Isaac to my Matchett line, but feel sure all Matchetts from this area are somehow related.

Would be glad to field more questions on Aghalee.

Tom Matchett
