Yes I know this family well but this William is not my grandad. Richard married to Mary Totten lived within eyesight of the farm cottage where my own ancestor also called Richard Matchett lived. Often these two Richards have been mixed up. My Richard Matchett was born in 1803 and was my great-great-grandad and was the first husband of Annie Lester. When Richard b. 1803 died in the famine, she married another Richard Matchett b. 1806!! This has caused much confusion amongst those doing family research as I am sure you can imagine. Your Richard and Mary are buried together. They died a year apart. Mary Totten born 1810 died age84 on 6th May 1894 and Richard died age 82 on 13th May 1895.They are buried in Tartaraghan parish church and I regularly stop by their gravestone. Three members of that Totten family married three members of the Matchett family!! Yes David Matchett did marry Elizabeth Boyce in Milltown church on 30th June 1887. He had been living in the townland of Clonmakate and she in Derrylilleagh. Do you have any info on this family you wish verified? I can check your records here for you if you like.from Stephanie.
