I find the following who arrived in New York 8 OCT 1828 on the ship Robert Fulton from Belfast:
David Matchett b. 1804, Margaret Matchett b. 1808, John Matchett b. 1804, James Matchett b. 1808.
Does anyone have any information about these Matchetts?

Margaret Matchett might be the mother of Anna Matchett b. 1842 Canada & resided in New York & New Jersey. Anna Matchett married William A. Donovan and Alasco Charles White. She was the wardrobe mistress for Barnum for 40 years. Anna Matchett's son William Albert Donovan married the bearded lady - Annie Jones aka Annie Donovan.
