My great-great grandfather, Edward Matchett, was born in Mississippi around 1823. I know that he is the son of either an Edward or William Matchett who moved to Mississippi early in the 1800s.

I can provide information about my Edward's family. I believe that the Edward Matchett Sr who died in Holmes Co. Mississippi was the son of the Edward who arrived in NC from Ireland in the 1740s. Is this true?
