A MATHERs from Drumgor (a townland in the Parish of Seagoe) was a lieutenant in the Seagoe Militia in the early 1800's. The Seagoe Militia was headed up by one of the BLACKERs.

There is a book about the BLACKERs of Carrickblacker which you can purchase on the web.

I am researching the MATTHEWS family who lived close to Drumgor - so have come across a few MATHERS in my research to date.

Drop me a line and I can give you some more detail.

cheers

Cameron
