Hi Jessica,
Just came across your message on the Mathers family of Ireland.
I am trying to trace my great grandfathers mothers family. She was Elizabeth Mathers of Derrynesker, County Armagh.
Her father was John Mathers, a farmer.
I also have the names John Henry Mathers and a Joseph Mathers but not sure where they fit in.
Elizabeth married Francis Dynes, 10.12.1856, in Drumcree, Co. Armagh. They had two children, William, my great grandfather and Maria. Francis and Elizabeth both died young leaving the children aged 2 and 6 weeks to be brought up by their aunt and uncle.
They all came out to N.Z. in 1874 when William was 17 and Maria 15.
I have plenty on the Dynes family but next to nothing on the Mathers family.
Thought you may have heard more since your posting.
Love to hear from you.
Regards Erin Davie.
New Zealand.
