Jim, I don't know if we are related, but my great-great grandfather was Robert Mathers b. jan. 1822 Boyne River area Northern Ireland. Came to the u.s. ? One of his son's was William ( my great grandfather). He m. Jeanette Coyle aka. Nattie. I was told by a historian that Mather's is Scottish, but when I ran that by another relative, she said no, Irish. I'm not having much luck researching Robert on the internet for free. Guess that I'll have to break down and pay. Good luck in your search. Julia DeLong.
