Hi Joan,
What a lovely surprise to check the Mathers Forum and find a reply. I have recently given up on my Mathers family, for now anyway and moved on to other branches of my family.
Sounds very promising to me and the best news I have had.My Great Grandfather came to N.Z. age 17 with his Uncle, Aunt and Cousins after his mother Elizabeth Mathers and father Francis Dynes had died when he was 2. He had one sister Maria who was just a baby when they died. She came also.
His name was William. Both names on your list.
They arrived here in January, 1874.
Francis Dynes and Elizabeth Mathers were married in the Drumcree Church on 10 December, 1856. I have a photo of the church. William was born in Nov. 1857. Maria Dec. 1859.
I have a copy of Francis and Elizabeths marriage certificate which says her father was John Mathers. A John Henry and a Joseph are mentioned in some papers I have about family land when they died.
Love to hear from you again. Cous.
My EMail is daviefam@ihug.co.nz.
Regards Erin.
