I'm looking for information on a John Mathers who lived in Marengo Co, AL who married Frances Caroline McKelduff Cook. Frances's father was William McKelduff . William is buried in Aimwell Cemetery in Marengo Co, AL (1798-1883). Frances married Charles W Cook in Winston Co, MS. Charles died during the Civil War. In the 1880 census for Kemper Co, MS she was living with son, and father-in-law John Cook. She was listed as head of household as F. C. Meathers. On her tombstone is Frances C Mathers, wife of John Mathers. She died Aug 18, 1896 in Preston, Kemper Co, MS. I've not been able to located when and where John Mathers died. Does anyone have information on John Mathers? I did find one John Meathers listed in the 1850 census in Marengo Co, AL.
