I am also looking for information about a William Mathers and would like to know if he's in the book. This William apparently came from Sussex, England, and eventually settled in Salix, Iowa (near Sioux City). One of his sons was John, and John begat Joseph and possibly another William (as well as other children). Some stayed in the Sioux City area, some moved to northwest Iowa, some to northeast Nebraska (Coleridge, Hartington, etc.), some to southeast Nebraska (Brock) and some to western Nebraska (North Platte area).

Here is my apparent direct lineage:

William (b. Sussex, England)
John (lived in Salix, IA)
Joseph (moved to Coleridge)
Howard (still living in Hartington)
Jerry (not the Beaver but a cousin)
Rex (me)

Any information about William, John or Joseph would be greatly appreciated.
