Hi:

Andrew Mathers (Madders) is my 6th grgranfather.

Andrew Mathers (Madders) of Boghouse, Artanfoord (now Artamford), Auchreddie (now New Deer)

His daughter Cirstane (now Christian) married Andrew Youngson of Artamfoord.

It looks as tho" the Mathers/Madders had a wee bit of Scandinavian in them.

I is a shame what the Anglization did to the good old Scot's names.

Aartamfoord, pardon Artamford is in Aberdeen.

This is all I have of the family as i just didn't get to this family until the 1700"s. For more info (which I don't seem to have much of) please contact me.

Give me more info re your Maders/Mathers. Surely somehow we will strike a common denomintor.

Cheers,

Irene Esson, Vancouver, Canada

How the name is pronounced is imaterial to me. Let us search for more Madders/Mathers.

Good Hunting

Irene Esson, Canada
