Emeline, d/o Nancy Strother and Littleberry Matlock
I am just starting on the Matlock family, and have no information on Matlock ancestors, but would love to know more about them.My son-in-law's ancestor was Emeline Matlock who married Peter D. Smith about 1830 in MS [maybe Tippah Co., MS].Emeline was the daughter of Nancy Jane Strother and Littleberry Matlock.Peter D. Smith and Emeline Matlock were the parents of Delaney K. Smith, who married John W. Hopkins 10 Mar 1875 in Tippah Co., MS.John W. Hopkins and Delaney K. Smith were in Tippah Co., MS when the 1880 census was taken, and she was in Milam Co., TX when the 1900 census was taken, a widow.Their son, Andrew Jackson Hopkins was my son-in-law's g-grandfather.
I can't find Delaney K. Smith Hopkins in 1910, so she either died or remarried before 1910.
My son-in-law's family doesn't have any knowledge about their family history, and I can't find anyone else researching these folks.I'd love to know more about the Matlock family as well as the Smith and Hopkins family.
I'll be happy to share what I have on these folks.By the way, A. J. Hopkins married Tommie Lumpkin whose folks were also from Tippah Co., MS, and who moved to Milam Co., TX.Tommie died young, about 1914.
Thanks.
