Timothy's father was William Hancock Matlack, born 1648 in Cropwell Biship, Norhamptonshire, England. He came to America in 1677 as an indentured servant on the ship Kent. He was one of the founders of Burlington N. J. William, his wife Mary Hancock, and one of his son's, Richard, are supposedly buried in a small graveyard on the 500 block of Balsam Road, Cherry Hill, N. J. If you search for his name on the internet you will find a article published in the Courier Post about this grave site. I have visited the site.
It is also said the Mary Hancock, William's wife is buried in the Friends Cemetary, Moorestown N. J. William did own land on the Pennshauken Creek in what is now Moorestown. He was one of the founders of Chester Meeting which is now Moorestown Meeting.
