Joseph Matlack c. 1750 m. Eleanor French in NJ
I'm looking for information about the Joseph Matlack who married Eleanor French on Dec. 13, 1796. They had a son, Dr. Charles French Matlack, on Dec. 1, 1798. Joseph was Eleanor's second husband, and must have ben born about 1750. I was told he was a son of Thomas Matlack (1744-1802) and Abigail Heulings/Hewlings, but that doesn't seem possible. Also, the death dates I have for him and Eleanor (1857 abd July 1850 respectively) would put them both into their late nineties, which seems unlikely as well. Any help in pinning down this Joseph, or whoever the father of Charles was, would be greatly appreciated.
