Karol Matulewicz and family
Hi everybody,
I love this family, they are soooo hard to find. It is like they died and truly took all the secrets with them. My great grandfather was Karol Matulewicz born 1867 in Lithuania, I think Kaunas, but not totally sure. He was a tailor who sewed for rich Russian families. Eventually the family was down in Georgia.Then there was the Ruso-Japanese war, and my great grandfather chose to come to the U.S. in 1904 rather than be conscripted into the Russian army. His wife and children joined him later. He came to the U.S. and settled in Cicero, Chicago. He is buried in St. Casimer's just like about the whole Lithuanian population of Chicago, as far as I can see.
