Could this name be spelled Matousek?? I'm sure we aren't spelling it correctly, and am searching for a clue of my great-grandmother's ancestry....she was Maria Matusek/Matousek, b. 1850, immigrated to US abt 1866 (family history says at age 16); she married (abt 1870, prob in Milwaukee) John Peter Kramer from Germany. I have her prayerbook, printed in 1850 in Vienna, Austria. She is said to have been "Bohemian"...which could be any of a few present day countries in the area.
