Sadie E. Maurer

PITMAN RR 1 -- Sadie E. Maurer, 91, formerly of Gratz, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Friendly Nursing Home. She had been in ill health since April.
Born in Helfenstein on Sept. 24, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary E. (Ochenrider) Wary.
She was educated in Helfenstein schools.
She married William E. Maurer, who died on Jan. 21, 1985.
She was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed crocheting, growing flowers and collecting cream pitchers.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Marie Maurer of Elizabethville; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan E. and William Henninger of Ashland; a sister, Arlene Weaver of Shamokin RR 1; a brother, Palmer Wary of Shamokin RR 1; three grandchildren, Jayne Jones, William R. Henninger and Susan Henninger; two step-grandchildren, two great-grandsons and a step-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Specht, and four brothers, Clarence Wary, William Wary, Glenn Wary and Franklin R. Wary.
