John MAUZY and Jemima DUNCAN are my ancestors
John was recommended as a 2nd Lt. in the Fauquier Cty Militia on May 22, 1780 (reference,"Virginia Militia in the Revolution", by McAlister, page 201; DAR Patriot Index, page 445)He moved to KY sometime after the Revolution.

John MAUZY was born about 1745 in Fauquier Co., VA.He died on 3 Mar 1802 in Lincoln Co., Ky.He was recommended as a 2d Lt. in the Fauquier Co. Militia 22 May 1780 (ref: "Virginia Militia in the Revolution", McAlister, pg 201; DAR Patriot Index, p.445).He moved to Kentucky sometime after the Revolution.

Sold to John MAUZY and Peter MAUZY of Frederick County, Virginia for $475 a tract containing 129 acres, 3 roods with all its houses, buildings, orchards, ways, water courses, profits, commodities, hereditaments and appurtenances, situated in Frederick County, Virginia on the south east side of Timber Ridge, white oak on the south side of the Great Road, formerly called Sir. Johns Road, north side of said road corner of a tract sold by Daniel BROWN to HEIRONIMUS, it being part of a larger tract which Daniel BROWN purchased from Jonathan PICKERINGS and sold by said BROWN to Richard RIDGWAY, deceased on 25 Sep 1809.

Stated that John JOLLIFFFE, JP and William STEPHENSON, JP questioned said wives if they freely agreed with the sale of said property.
