I found the children of Jacob Mawyer/Mayer in the county records of Albermarle and Nelson Co. Va. Leonard b)1774, Sarah b)1780, Catherine b)1786 and John b)1792 are difinitely childern of Jacob and it is most likely that Conrad and Margaret (Peggy) are the oldest children due to certain land deals and legal transactions. The dates all fit and they all lived in the same area. The younger children were born in Va. but there is some evidence that the older ones may have been born in Pa. maybe Northampton or Berks Co. It is also possible that he was a descendant of George Mayer that settled at Germanna in 1717. I descend from the line of John A. Mawyer b)1792 and have the complete family line. What is your interest in Jacob? Are you part of the family? If I can help in any way, let me know, or if you have you any information I can use please pass it on.

Marshall Mawyer
