Cousin Bruce,
I was really excited about getting your answer to my gen forum.
I am really into the genoalogy of the Morris and Mawyer family, yes I am running into different spelling of Mawyer.
Mauyer- in 1860 census of Nelson Count
What is your fathers name?
Is the cabin still standing?
I found 3 of our other cousins doing research on the Morris,
mine and your great grandmother was a MORRIS before marriage. I have the marriage certificate of Silas and Mary Ellen.
