Marshall,

My Grandfather's name was Granville Alfred Mawyer, Sr. (Not Grandville).

This is information I have gotten from my mother, Mrs. Granville Alfred "Buddy" Mawyer, Jr.

According to her, my great-grandfather's name was Kemper Mawyer, born in Ch'ville/Albemarle County in 1901. Among his children were my grandfather, Granville Alfred Mawyer, Sr. and his siblings:

Edward "Ned" Mawyer
Byrd Mawyer
Pauline Mawyer Whitley
Myrtle Mawyer (no married name known)
Erva Mawyer Parr
Eugene Mawyer (died at the age of 19, no birth year known)
Raymond Mawyer
And another brother whose name my mother doesn't remember.

I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide, as my knowledge of the family is very sketchy at best. For instance, do you know from what country the Mawyer name originates?

Thanks. Charlottesville is a great place to call "my hometown."
