Mawyer Family Genealogy Forum

In researching my families lineage along with my father I ran across an interesting location that I didn't expect. Just for fun I did a "United Kingdom" surname search and came up with 11 entries in Scotland. The oldest being a lady named "Christian Mawyer" in 1711. For your research purposes, should you be interested this is an official website under the Seal of General Register Office, New Register House, Edinburgh Scotland. The record number is 49131 (their reference number is I01/047381. This is an extract of entries in an Old Parochial Register in the Parish of "Fowlis Easter" and in the County of "Perth". The entry reads as follows:
"Thursday July 26, William Morris and Christian Mawyer were married here by Mr. Alexander Scott, minister of (couldn't make out the last word)."
This focuses me in a totally different direction than I had expected as to where the "Mawyer" family originally came from.
Hope this is helpful to someone.
Happy hunting.
