Hi, Nancy -
Just saw your message regarding William Riley Maxey. I am the daughter of William Lonzo Maxie, son of Albert Maxie, whose father was William Isaac "Billy" Maxie. "Billy" was the son of yet another William Maxie (Maxey). I was told that Billy's father, William, was also William Isaac Maxey, but I have no proof of that. I have found William Riley Maxey and Sarah Eldridge listed on a confederate pension application list. I have been told (but have no proof) that William, Sr. was married twice - first to Perlina (?)and they had a daughter, Alice. Perlina supposedly left/divorced William, Sr. and he didn't see Alice again until she was much older. I was also told that he married a second time, to Sarah Eldridge - have been told her father was Jesse. Although I have no proof, I believe we are probably looking at the same William. Have you received any further information? I've been to the cemetery (many times) where Billy, his wife, Becky, and William (I believe)are buried. Do you know where William Riley Maxie was born in Tennessee? If it is the same William, I have further information I can provide you about the Eldridge family as well. You will find the Eldridges and Maxies intermarried frequently. It gets really confusing!!

Anyway, please get back to me - maybe we can help each other out and see if we may be related.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Audra
