I can only get back to c1732. One problem is I don't know when/where my John Maxton was born. I am assuming he was at least as old as his wife who was b.c1732 according to her death record in Perth.
A son of my John Maxton lived several Perthshire villages: Aberdalgie, Dunning, Strathearn.
--John Maxton's wife, Janet Murdoch, may have been daughter of John Murdoch of Fortevoit. There was a Janet chr. 1734 Fortevoit dau. of John Murdoch.

Are you of the MAXTONE family near Fowlis Wester and only a few miles of Crieff? I have been to the hotel/restaurant. A beautiful countryside.
