Good Morning Stephanie,
Some years ago, I researched the Mayeux family for Anward Mayeux, deceased. Anward's wife, Dean, remembered "Gram" the wife of Cyrus Mayeux, who lived to be 90+ years. Dean knew "Gram" was a Juneau, and thought her given name maybe Alicia.
Last August, Dean and I went to the Te Mamou Cemetery that is located on what I call the Old Alexandria Highway. We found graves for Cyrus Mayeux and Mrs. Cyrus Mayeux with death dates only: Cyrus Mayeux d. October 1944 and Mrs. Cyrus Mayeux d. July 195_ last digit covered by a screw!
You could write for birth and death information from the Secretary of State, Baton Rouge, LA. I paid $5 for information on my grandmother. For information on how to order go to:
http://www.sec.state.la.us/archives/archives/archives-birthform.htmhttp://www.sec.state.la.us/archives/archives/archives-birthform.htm (Note: archives appears 3 times!)
Cyrus Mayeux, s/o Henry Mayeux and Adelaide Firmin, was b. Abt. 1863 in Avoyelles Parish, Marksville, LA. Alicia Juneau's parents remain unknown. Alicia may have been b. Abt. 1867 in Avoyelles Parish, and died Bet. 1950-1959 in Evangeline Parish.
Children of Cyrus mayeux and Alicia Juneau:
From Dean's memory: Cecile Mayeux, Victoria Mayeux, Winnie Mayeux - we found no additional information on these three. As I recall, Olive Mayeux was not mentioned.
We found information on the following:
Philip Mayeux, b. August 25, 1888, SS# ISS LA - d. February 1965 in Louisiana - no zip code was given for his residence.
Found on the Social Security Death Index at RootsWeb.com

Eunice Mayeux, b. November 12, 1893, in Louisiana; d. October 06, 1977, bur. Te Mamou cemetery, Ville Platte,LA. Eunice m. Jean Pierre Vidrine. I personally knew Charles Burdwell Vidrine, s/o Eunice Mayeux and Jean Pierre Vidrine. "Burdwell" m. a very good friend of mine, Lorraine Landreneau from VP. Burdwell had a brother named Stopher who is also bur. in Te Mamou Cemetery.
Andrew Mayeux, b. July 04, 1907, d. August 07, 1944 in Evangeline Parish - bur. Te Mamou Cemetery, Ville Platte, LA. Andrew Mayeux and Hazel Doguet were Anward Mayeux's parents.
Notes for Cyrus Mayeux:
I found Cyrus Mayeux, b. Abt. 1863 listed with his parents and siblings on World Family Tree CD, Volume 15, #1831.
Later I found him listed with his parents and siblings in the book "Some Early Avoyelles Parish Families", Volume 2, page 245 by William Gremillion & Loucille Edwards Gremillion.
I checked marriages in "Some Early Avoyelles Parish Families" Call #F377.A9 G75, Vol. 1 1808-1855, Vol. 2 1856-1880, and Vol. 3 1881-189_.
I also checked in "Computer Indexed Marriage Records 1808-1900" for Avoyelles Parish pub. by Hunting for Bears. Call #F377.A9 M87 L32
I found only one Juneau/Mayeux marriage: Lydia Juneau m. November 28, 1895, Albert Mayeux. No parents listed. When said in Cajun French Lydia and Alicia would sound very much alike.
On the Social Security Death Index, I found Cyrique Mayeux, b. 18 Jul. 1884, d. Jan. 1972. Obviously not our Cyrus.
Cyrus may have had two given names, and one other than Cyrus was used in subsequent records. You may be able to find more information on him at St. Joseph Church (Est. 1869), 303 South Washington Street, Marksville, LA 71351
