Although I am no way related to the Mayger Family, I have recently acquired a lovely leather bound photos album. The cover has the following embossed gold wording: Vacation Reminiscences, August 1920, The Maygers. It contains approximately 20 photos of an Edwardian era family vacation, which included approximately 30 people. The vacation setting includes a house with a gazebo on substantial grounds by a lake. I feel this was probably a rather well-to-do family during this era, as one photos includes what I believe to be a cook and maid with the family. Attire is all very proper, including one picture of the family playing badmitton is formal suits and long dresses.
I received this album from an elderly lady in St. Louis whose friend owned an antique shop. It was given to her by the antique shop owner when the business was closed. I have no idea where these photos were taken, but I do feel it was in the US. I would love to be able to locate descendants of this family and pass along this wonderful album to them...it is such a treasure!
