Hi, I've had a look at the 1881 census and in view of the age the most likely John Mayne was 16 at that time, unmarried and a tin miner, born in Illogan Cornwall and not there in the 1901 census. Unmarried mother Olivia
Mayne.
Only other possibilities seem to be John Mayne Tin Miner (Clk)(Accountant) born 1844 Gwithian, wife Eliza E. children Allie,Beatrice,Lucy,Winifred, John E. born 1879 and Stanley.
Another Tin Minerborn 1846Illogan (but probably too old)
Lastly John age 7 in1901 son of a disabled carpenter, but also in a tine mining community. (too young?)
I couldn't find anything in the Mexico records. Regards Gillyou can contact me [email protected]
