I believe you are on track with this Misinco family from Patton, PA. I found the first names fit extremely well with my wife's Mazenko Family. Her immigrant ancestors were Michael & Mary (Suchila) Mazenko and they had three children that we know of... there may be more... possibly including your John Misinco. The reason I feel there is a connection is because:
We have traced ours to 1892 tax records in the GLEN WHITE MINERS and COKE (Dravers, Huns & Poles) tax records. The list includes:
Mike Mezinko Sr
John Mazenko No. 1
John Mazenko No. 2
Mike Mazenko Jr.
The same five show up in 1893 and in 1894 it is just Mike Mezinko Sr., John Mazenko No. 2 and Mike Mazenko Jr. and John Echic (a known friend of the family).
The John moves on after 1895 to another place. We know from family accounts and records that Mike Mazenko Sr. was the father of Mike Jr. and George Mazenko. We also know that John Elchick was a close family friend.
The John Mazenko's here we have always thought were close family members but we never knew what happened to them.
I believe that John Mezinko #2 is your ancestor. His birthdate from later census info puts him just 2 years older than Mike Jr. and four years older than George. John No. 2 could be the son of John No. 1 but if he was I believe they would have called him John Jr. instead of John #2! I think he is specifically listed as No. 2 because he was not the son of John No. 1, but the son of Michael Sr.
Do you have a death certificate for John Mazinco?? Do you if his father is "Michael"? I think he might be the son of Michael Sr... very interesting... Do you have any photos of these people? I have a few of Michael Jr. and George, the other sons of Michael Sr. as well as their sister, Mary.
