Terry,

Thanks for posting back. Your post is encouraging. I was very excited when I found the census records for this family. There are lots of unanswered questions, of course, but it is a start, a solid start.

I have no pictures of John Misinco. I have at least one of my grandfather, taken in the late 70s or early 80s in Indiana County.

I only obtained this information in the last few days. My next step with this line will be to request a death certificate for John Misinco. I am assuming he lived in Patton until his death. I believe I have notes somewhere that John's son, Mike, died at Patton in 1971. I will start working on getting the death certificate for John Misinco (Sr.) and let you kow what I find.

I do know he was born in Slovakia (1920 census) or Czechoslovakia (1930 census).

I talked with my aunt, Joe's daughter, tonight. She is very excited about all the developments of the last couple of weeks, first her cousin's familiy contacting me (and we have traded a lot of anecdotal info on the Marletts) and now this. Christmas in September!

A large question now is why my grandfather assumed the name Whitey sometime between 1921 and 1932. He used it in the 1930 census, but my mother's surname is the old family name (a variation of it): Mizenko. His son, born in 1929, is listed with the surname Whitey, but he used Mizenko and that's the name on his death certificate.

It's also interesting that it does look like I am related, distantly, to both you and your wife, you through Jacob Stiffler and your wife through the Mazenko/Misinco lines.

I'll be back in touch soon. Please keep in touch and let me know if you find anything, or if I can provide any information (on either Stifflers or Mazenko/Misinco) that might be helpful to you.

Thanks again, Terry.

Will
