Tracy - I sure hope this email posting reaches you! I have information for you and a lot more. I have been researching my Vance family for many years and have just recently discovered that my Vance family married into your McAninch family. In fact, the very family that you are talking about with your response to Dick Schack.

I have just recently taken pictures of the graves of Alma M. Kepley McAninch (Kepley) being her maiden name, and her five children that were killed. They are actually buried at the Webb Cemetery in Warren County about 4 miles from where I live. All of them are buried beside each other and yes, two of children Ray and Gail were survived.

I just went to the State Historical Bldg. in Des Moines last week and found the newspaper articles about the mass funeral of the family. It was in the Des Moines Tribune November 1, 1937, November 2, 1937 and November 9, 1937.

Your great-grandmother Alma was the daughter of David Morris Kepley and Cora Almira or it coule be Elmira Vance, as the gravestone reads Cora E. Cora's parents were Bradley and Julia Ann Brubaker-Vance.

I can give you lots of data on the Vance family.... and some pictures. I am currently attempting to figure out who G. R. is myself.

If you are interested, I would be more than happy to help you.
