Hello Tracy. My name is Dick Schack, and I am a descendent of Joseph P. McAninch, who settled in Ringgold Co., Iowa, shortly after the Civil War. At about the same time a brother of his, William S. McAninch, settled in the Demoines Iowa area. Is it a possibility that you are a descendent of this line? My records show that he had at least 3 sons. Alvin W., Cerval H., and James A..If you could get the soundex for the 1910 and 1920 census for Iowa, and look uo these three names on it, you might get a clue as to where to search. If you can't do that, you might try contacting Frank McAninch at Family@McAninch.net or FrankMcAninch@alumni.uci.edu and see if he has any information on the line. He publishes a McAninch newsletter, and acts as a clearing house for the McAninch lines in the U.S. Wish you luck. Dick
