Nancy,
Maurice McAuliffe settled in Baltimore in the 1860's & married Margaret Cowan. They had several daughters, one of whom was Katherine, who married someone in Philadelphia. There were no Mary's, that I know of, in the McAuliffe family that settled in Baltimore. There were several other members of the family who entered the country in Maine, but I havn't been able to find out much on them.
There were other McAuliffes that were in the Boston area, but I don't have any link to that family. Sorry I couldn't provide the info that you are looking for.
