New Input: I have Jack as the son of Timothy McAuliffe and his first spouse (name unknown) and being one of nine children; Reverend Mother Katherine (sister)' Louie (teacher)(brother), John (Geologist & Customs Officer)(brother)' Alfred, nicknamed "Alfee" (Registrar of Marriages), Father Alec McAuliffe (priest), Bridget, Mary, Theresa and then Jack. Timothy was a Regimental Sergeant Major in the 87th Royal Irish Fusiliers for over 20 years; possibly the info you have on his father being in the service. Hope this might work out for you. My mother met him when he visited England to visit his half-brother, William Victor, when he was in London. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters by his father's 2d marriage to Cecilia Gifford, from Wexford, Ireland.
