Daniel and Mary McAuliffe

Hello fellow posters,

I am trying to trace the whereabouts of my ancestors, Daniel and Mary McAuliffe (née O'Donoghue) with the main goal of finding their resting place so I can visit them.

It's probably easier to follow Daniel as he joined the military.

Daniel, of Killarney, Co. Kerry, joined the British Army's 37th Regiment of Foot in 1816 at Clonmel at the stated age of 22. He then followed the Regiment to Quebec (then Lower Canada) where he remained for 7.5 years. His service ended after 26 years in 1843 upon when he was dismissed at Chatham, England.

It is at this point that I do not know what happened to him. It is possible that he returned to Ireland to live because his son's marriage certificate in Booterstown, Dublin, says that his parents were of Killarney, Kerry. However, I do not know if they were actually present at the wedding.

I also don't know if he had other children (I assume he did and would love to know) but I'd also really love to be able to visit Daniel and Mary's gravesite.

Does anyone have any ideas?
