Ger,

I am Administrator of the McCarthy (Y-DNA) Surname Study. This is facilitated by FTDNA but offline I keep Y-DNA records from other sources (where the Owners are happy to reveal them to me). This way I have succeeded in putting distant cousins whose data resides with different testing organisations in touch with one another. MacAuliffe, like (O) Cremin (and variants), is a name associated with MacCarthy origins in the ancient genealogies. I am very keen to see if any of these surnames truly are close matches with one or other of the several branches of McCarthy Y-DNA. This in turn may help validate beyond any doubt some sections of the ancient records. Please contact me through http://www.familytreedna.com/public/McCarthySurnameStudy/default.aspx.

Kind regards = N McCarthy
