Well, David we certainly have the right area Inverness, but with sooooo!! many Margaret McBains it is difficult to say if there is a connection but would hope there is. I am not sure if any family move to Victoria but I am in Singleton NSW and know there is a McBain in Singleton WA as I spoke to him several years ago but no connection found to us at the time. I do know that Alexander McBain lived in WA he was was born in Inverness in 1903. It was his decentants I was trying to find at the time. As you are in the same state it maybe worthwhile contacting this McBain in WA. I will keep a look out and hope you will do the same.
