Hello Geneva,
Thanks very much for your note. Sorry that I am late in replying, but I have been traveling for the past several weeks.
You are correct. Bessie is Margaret and she is the daughter of Robert and Elspet McBain. My mother, who is 92, remembers her as Aunt Bess. Last weekend I was at her house and we searched for some pictures. Just a couple of weeks ago we were looking at one group shot of a McBain family get together which would have been in about 1920. All of the O'Dells were there. My mother remembers lots about her cousins as they (the Odell boys) were excellent athletes and scholars.
If you like, I would be glad to send a scan of the McBain/O'Dell family group picture when I find it. We are in the process of moving my Mom to a nursing home and I am sure that we will run across it when we clean out the house.
Please let me know if you would like further info on the McBains. Will tell you what I can.
