I would like to ask your and my cousin, Mayme Pauline, what she might know about our Scott line of the family.Odessa's mother, Sarah S. Scott, was a sister to my gr grandmother, Mary Catherine Scott Burchell "Katie".
Until last week, the last record I could find on Sarah was in the 1880 Ozark Co, MO census when she was still living with her parents, Rev. Flemmon Scott and Phebe James.
There's much I would like to ask, but I'm getting ready to go to Washington Co, AR to look for Grandma Phebe Scott's grave site.I only know that it was in the Cane Hill area and the Boonesboro P.O. section of Washington Co, AR and that it's supposed to be a couple of miles below a lake.
Sarah and Richard Wyman were living in the same part of AR, and I'd like to find out such things as that.
Does Odessa have living descendants who I could talk to who might have knowledge of our Scotts?
Sarah & Katie's brother, Greenup Scott, helped bury Grandma Phebe in Washington Co.He also lived in Carthage after leaving AR when Odessa was in MO.Greenup died in 1917.Not much was known about Greenup until lately except he was supposed to have been a captain in the Salvation Army.He did have three children, but it doesn't seem that he had any grandchildren to share info with.
I do have pictures and was hoping to share. Me and other computer-found cousins have done much work on our Scott and James lines of the family.
Thank you for responding,
